Within the project “Municipalities for EU – Empowering Local Communities in the European Integration Process of Montenegro,” funded by the European Union and implemented in cooperation with the Union of Municipalities of Montenegro and the Ministry of Public Administration, a two-day training clinic was held, dedicated to the preparation of Concept Notes for the IPA III Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Montenegro – Bosnia and Herzegovina 2021–2027.

The workshop gathered representatives of the municipalities of Petnjica, Pljevlja, and Nikšić, who, with the support of the mentoring team – Simona Bošković from the Union of Municipalities of Montenegro, Goran Đurović, and Darko Mrvaljević, experts engaged in the “Municipalities for EU” project – worked on developing and improving their project ideas in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development.
Eligible municipalities under the CBC Montenegro – Bosnia and Herzegovina Programme include: Berane, Bijelo Polje, Kolašin, Mojkovac, Petnjica, Pljevlja, Plužine, Šavnik, Žabljak, Danilovgrad, Nikšić, Herceg Novi, Kotor, and Tivat.

The aim of the training was to provide local governments with concrete, hands-on mentoring support in preparing high-quality Concept Notes ready for submission by 28 November, thereby strengthening their capacity to access EU funds and implement locally significant projects.

Project Team Leader Branka Mračević informed participants that the practice of organizing training clinics will continue throughout the project’s duration, for all EU calls where municipalities are eligible applicants. The project will also continue with capacity-building activities through regular training programmes and in-house workshops, organized at the initiative and upon the request of interested municipalities.
