Rožaje Marked Europe Day: Hiking as a Celebration of European Values

Rozaje obiljezilo Dan Evrope

The Municipality of Rožaje marked Europe Day in a special way, joining the large European family through symbolic and concrete activities that promote unity, sustainability, and love for nature.

The Ambassador of the European Union to Montenegro, Johan Sattler, was a guest at this unique event and, together with citizens, participated in a hiking tour along the route from Štedim to Ahmica and back.

This route, which passes through the untouched nature of the Rožaje area, served as a perfect setting for celebrating European values such as solidarity, a shared goal, and connectedness.

By doing so, Rožaje became part of the broader “Month of Europe” initiative – symbolically, at the highest point!

In addition to hiking, large clean-up actions were organized during the day at as many as 18 locations throughout the municipality, bringing together volunteers of all ages.

This ecological initiative demonstrated that caring for nature and protecting the environment are not only local but also European responsibilities that we all share.

The activities in Rožaje were not only a celebration – they were also a reminder that European values live through everyday actions and collective efforts.
