Budva Celebrated Europe Day and Announced the Start of the Summer Season

The Municipality of Budva, in cooperation with the EU Delegation and with the support of the project “Municipalities for the EU,” marked Europe Day and announced the start of the summer season.

The celebration is part of the Europe Month calendar, during which all municipalities across the country celebrate Europe Day.

A special honor was given to the event by the presence of Mr. Jorge Urbiola López de Montenegro, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain in Montenegro, who attended the event on behalf of the Spanish Embassy, an EU member state.

As part of the Europe Day celebrations, Budva symbolically combined European values with local cultural identity and tradition, creating an atmosphere of unity, diversity, and openness for visitors from across the region and Europe.

The central musical program, which also marks the beginning of the summer tourist season, was held on May 23 and 24 at the square in front of the Old Town. During the two-day spectacle, visitors enjoyed performances by top artists from the domestic and regional scene.

On Friday, May 23, the program began at 1 PM with a performance by the Budva Town Band and the Budva City Choir, whose joint performance of well-known pieces added a special touch of local charm.

The evening program was opened by Marijana Zlopaša, followed by a concert by Saša Kovačević. Saturday evening, May 24, was marked by the performance of Stevan Anđelković, while the highlight of the event was a concert by one of the biggest music stars in the Balkans – Dino Merlin, whose spectacular performance closed the celebration and symbolically announced the start of another successful tourist season.
