A panel discussion held today in Rožaje brought together local entrepreneurs and representatives of municipal services, including the Department for Development Projects and the Directorate for Investment Development. Participants had the opportunity to receive comprehensive and practical information on how local governments can further support small and medium-sized enterprises in accessing national and international funding for business development.

During the panel, opening remarks were delivered by the President of the Municipality of Rožaje, Rahman Husović, and the Team Leader of the project “Municipalities4EU – Empowering Local Governments in the EU Integration Process”, Branka Mračević. Support programmes were presented by SME support consultant Aleksandar Janičić and Stefan Jovanović from the Projects Sector of the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro.
The President of the Municipality of Rožaje expressed satisfaction with initiatives of this kind being implemented across Montenegro, emphasizing that the local administration remains open to projects that deliver tangible benefits to both citizens and the business community.

“Our municipality continuously achieves strong cooperation in the field of EU funds. I am particularly proud of the wastewater treatment system project, worth over €16 million, which is currently in its final phase of implementation,” said the President of the Municipality of Rožaje.
He also highlighted the success of a project supporting small businesses in the wood processing sector, valued at over €400,000, in which the municipality participated through co-financing. It was concluded that further development relies on close cooperation with consultants and the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro, which provides essential guidance to businesses.

The Municipality of Rožaje remains committed to creating an environment that responds to the needs of the community, with full sensitivity to projects that improve the quality of life for all citizens.
