As part of the celebration of this significant date, a drawing competition “EU in the Heart of My Town” was organized, bringing together the youngest citizens and giving them the opportunity to express their vision of the European future of Šavnik through art.

The winners of the competition were: Tamara Krsmanović (1st prize), Danijel Gašević (2nd prize), and Dunja Tomić (3rd prize), whose works were particularly recognized for their creativity, symbolism, and clear message of European values.

The Mayor of Šavnik, Jugoslav Jakić, while presenting the awards, stated that the future of Šavnik, Montenegro, and the EU lies in children and their vision.

“I hope that your vision of Šavnik as part of the European Union will one day become a reality. Through your works, you have painted what we all aspire to – a city that breathes European values, preserves its own values, but shares them with others, open to knowledge, cooperation, and progress,” said Jakić.

The Program Manager at the EU Delegation to Montenegro, Razvan Gitesku, also addressed the attendees, emphasizing that the European community is inspired by the messages of young citizens of Šavnik in building a Union where there is room for everyone and where children’s dreams have value.

“Through your drawings and ideas, you show us what the European future looks like – green, inclusive, peaceful, and full of opportunities,” he said.
