Employees from Montenegrin municipalities involved in the preparation and submission of projects for EU funds have successfully completed the first three-day module of the EU Project Writing Training, organized within the framework of the project “Municipalities for the EU – Empowering Local Communities in Montenegro’s EU Integration Process.”

During the first training module, participants completed the Logical Framework Matrix, a prerequisite for the next stage of training focused on filling out EU funding application forms.
Over the course of three days, participants, supported by Goran Đurović, an expert in local government capacity building, analyzed key elements of project preparation — from problem identification and goal definition to activity planning and project cycle management. Special emphasis was placed on practical exercises and work on specific project ideas.

The second module of the training will be held on April 8 and 9, when participants will continue to advance their knowledge and skills for effective preparation of project proposals.
The project “Municipalities for the EU – Empowering Local Communities in Montenegro’s EU Integration Process” is funded by the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro and implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Administration and the Union of Municipalities of Montenegro.

The aim of the project is to strengthen the capacity of local governments to access EU funds, implement European standards, and actively participate in the EU integration process. Through trainings, mentoring support, and networking, the project helps municipalities become better prepared for planning and implementing EU-funded projects, while improving their institutional structures and communication about European policies.
