The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, through the NCP WIDERA.NET project, announces a Call for Travel Grants for all individuals interested in submitting project proposals under calls within the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation “Horizon Europe.”
The aim of this call is to encourage potential applicants from Montenegro to participate in networking events organized abroad, in order to establish stronger connections with applicants outside Montenegro and increase the chances of success of project proposals currently under preparation. These proposals may relate to any call under Pillar II “Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness” of the Horizon Europe programme.
The events are held abroad and require the physical presence of participants. They may be organized by various Horizon Europe National Contact Point (NCP) networks, the European Union, and/or other entities, networks, or initiatives aimed at building consortia interested in the preparation and presentation of project proposals.
Travel grants will be awarded to participants from Montenegro attending networking (brokerage) events related to calls under the clusters of Pillar II “Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness” of Horizon Europe, as follows:
- Health
- Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society
- Civil Security for Society
- Digital, Industry and Space
- Climate, Energy and Mobility
- Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment
- New European Bauhaus
The total budget available under this call amounts to EUR 9,000.00.
The individual travel grant amounts to up to EUR 1,000 per participant.
Grant funds may be used exclusively for travel and accommodation costs.
The Ministry will support a maximum of two participants from the same organization under this call.
Below is a list of currently available events for which interested applicants may apply:

Additionally, if an applicant is aware of a networking event taking place abroad with the aim of connecting potential applicants for any Pillar II call, the Ministry may finance travel costs for that event, provided that prior approval is granted and the event is recognized as a brokerage event within the meaning of this Call.
Funds under this Call will be awarded on a rolling basis, in accordance with the order of receipt of eligible applications and the available budget.
Applicants interested in receiving a travel grant are required to register for the selected event. Only after receiving confirmation of registration for participation in the event may the applicant submit an application for the grant to the Ministry.
Within 15 days from the date of return from the trip, the grant recipient is required to submit to the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation a Report on participation in the event (narrative and financial, with supporting evidence of expenditures), using the form attached to this Call.
If the grant recipient does not undertake the trip, they are obliged to refund the received funds to a dedicated bank account of the Ministry, opened for the implementation of the NCP WIDERA.NET project.
